Mount Fuji (Fujisan) is a dormant volcano, which most recently erupted in 1708. It is 3776 meters and is Japan's highest mountain. The mountain stands on the border between Yamanashi and Shizuoka but can be seen from Tokyo and Yokohama on clear days.
